Winternägel: Die schönsten Nageldesigns zum Jahresstart

Winter nails: The most beautiful nail designs to start the year

The first months of the new year are a very special time - also in nail design. From January onwards, the glittering and sparkling beauties of Christmas and New Year's Eve are usually removed from the nails. Coarse glitter and tinsel and Christmas colors such as gold, silver, dark red in combination with green and white have initially had their day.

Colors & motifs: nail design in winter

For winter nails in the cool months of January, February and March, the studio uses simple classics such as French , nude or elegant red tones , explains our nail designer Stefanie. During this time, a gentle shimmer, metallic glitter or mother-of-pearl shine is also often used, which gives every nail design a special touch and yet no longer looks as celebratory and party-like as the coarse glitter particles. In nail art, Christmas motifs, such as Santa Claus or Christmas trees, are now changing to winter symbols such as snowflakes - they still take up the theme and the weather of the beginning of the year, but move away from the classic motifs of December, which is characterized by Christmas.

Beautiful winter nails: 3 questions for our expert Stefanie

Our nail designer Stefanie answered three interesting questions about nail design in winter. She gives you tips for beautiful nails in winter and tells you how to make your nail design appealing in the first months of the year.

ND24: What color do you wear at the start of the year?

Nail designer Stefanie: I had a glittering bronze tone on my nails for the New Year. It looks festive and has a warm aura that goes perfectly with the dark, cool season and sets great accents. For the winter time at the beginning of the new year, however, I go for a blue-tinged pink berry tone that looks fresh and powerful. I think this is the perfect alternative to classic red tones and gives a modern and lively look - it also goes well with many outfits and can usually be worn to the office without any problems. I personally also think similar tones from this palette are nice for modern winter nails!

ND24: What nail length in the new year?

Nail designer Stefanie: The nail length should of course fit the customer's style and lifestyle. Most customers wear their nails a little longer at the end of the year - on the one hand because they are on vacation and can't wear nails that long in the office, for example. On the other hand, because the great glitter effects and nail art motifs at Christmas and New Year's Eve often look better on long nails. With the new year, the length is often shortened again and adapted to everyday life.

ND24: When are winter colors popular in nail design?

Nail designer Stefanie: Most people rely on winter colors from January to March and then switch to spring-like tones and nail art from April onwards. When the sun shows up again, the classic colors alternate with pastel tones or are elegantly combined with them.

ND24: Beautiful nails in winter – what do you recommend?

Nail designer Stefanie: For healthy nails and delicate hands, I rely on rich care in winter, which I always apply in the evening before going to bed. This allows the active ingredients to be absorbed in peace. I also peel my hands regularly and, if necessary, use paraffin wax baths to give my hands a real beauty treatment.
