With gel:

• Apply base color
• Paint one or more color gels next to each other on the sponge in vertical or horizontal lines
• Dab the color combination onto the nail and cure. If necessary, apply a second color and also dab and cure
• Finally, seal the modeling

With pigments:

• Apply base color
• Pick up the pigment with the sponge and apply it to the nail or dab it depending on the pigment
• Finally, seal the modeling
